David Adams, and his father, Terry Adams, have been doing their homework. The two-generation family endeavor, partnered with USDA-NRCS and the Montgomery County Soil & Water Conservation District to implement the Regenerative Ag Pilot Program to address several resource concerns on the 400 acre crop operation.

Since 1971, Terry has rotated crops and like many other producers, balanced profitability with challenges like soil degradation, crop disease and expensive dependency on chemicals and fertilizers. Earlier this year the Adams’ began working with us to develop a conservation plan tailored to their goals and needs while improving water quality and soil health through emphasized soil remediation practices.

Planned practices include cover crops and soil testing for nutrient management to address crop disease and build crop resiliency. Through their conservation plan, the future of soil health will continue to advance and improve the land for years to come.
