SIX HUNDRED FEET STREAMBANK STABILIZATION ON YELLOW CREEK OUTLET

Streambank and Shoreline Protection is one of the more complicated, timely and largest cost share practices we do, but also one of the most rewarding.  Landowners could lose several feet per year in erosion.

This six hundred sixteen feet streambank project on Yellow Creek Outlet was submitted in December 2019 and wasn’t funded/completed until December 2023.  Lining up funding according to program approvals, obtaining engineering designs and permits all culminate to the end result of a worthwhile project!

Stabilizing soil to prevent erosion into our streams and rivers is essential to our water quality here in Montgomery! THANKS to our partners in conservation, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, this project was possible.

For more information on streambank stabilization and shoreline protection, or to submit an application for funding, call our office 931-368-0252 x 3.
