The Montgomery SWCD is now accepting applications for the David E. Hinton 2025 Scholarship.
Agriculture/Natural Resources (or related major) students attending ANY accredited college and a Montgomery resident. DON’T MISS THE SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE – JUNE 1ST!  PLEASE SHARE!

This annual scholarship was created in 2002 in memory of David E. Hinton.  Mr. Hinton was a founding board member of the Montgomery County Soil Conservation District in 1944.

The applicant must (1) be enrolled and/or attending an accredited college (2) a Montgomery resident and; (3) seeking completion of a bachelor degree program with a major in an agriculture related field (ex; Ag-Business, Ag- Science, Ag-Communications; Environmental Studies, Pre-Vet, Forestry or Wildlife Biology).

Applicants must complete and submit the following by JUNE 1ST:

  • Scholarship Application
  • minimum of two recommendation forms/letters
  • MOST CURRENT official transcript

The David E. Hinton Scholarship will award $500/semester ($1000 max per year) and is payable directly to the college with the student(s) name as recipient.

The Montgomery County Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will review all applications.
